Our vineyard is a story of women. For five generations, the tradition has passed from mother to daughter, preserving a rich hertiage. And yet, in delightful paradox, our countryside is anchored by the name "peyre", meaning "stone" in the local Gascon dialect. Château du Payre, or 'Castle of Payre' also echoes the language of the region - derived from Gascon, it can be read as 'Castle of the Father'.
Purchase of the Domaine du Vic
The "Vic" estate and its house were bought by the Roussereau brothers before the marriage between Miss Dumas and one of the brothers.
Inheritance of a vineyard covering 3.5 hectares.

Publication of the "Domaine du Vic"
Publication of the "Domaine du Vic" in the property directory by son-in-law Mr Isnel Guiraud.
Mr Jean-Pierre Arnaud (Mr Guiraud son-in-law and Mme Arnaud Simone husband) went to Paris to get his first car ! On his way back, he sold few bottles of white wine. At this time, postwar period, direct sales were an avant-garde business.

Establishment of Château du Payre
Mr Gino Marcuzzi married Monique, the oldest daughter. Thanks to a strong family bond, Château du Payre was able to firmly establish itself as a vineyard with the acquisition of red vines.
Valérie Marcuzzi, Mr and Mrs Marcuzzi’s second eldest daughter, married Mr Labrousse and continued the passing down of the family property for another generation.
